GORC Website Launch Party This Friday March 29th, 5pm, Civil Life Brewery, STL
OK, I'm having a party to celebrate the launch of GORC3.0 as I like to call it.
I've invited the Spry Digital team down for drinks - they are the developers that did all the major programming, functionality, process logic and theming for the new site.
This is an informal gathering... do not wait for long-winded speeches as they will not come easily after a drink or three. This is a celebration of a very long 6 months of my life dedicated to taking GORC to the next organizational level.
I truly believe our new site will surpass 90% of all mountain biking club / organization sites. I am very proud of it.
That said, let's all gather and hang out at Civil Life. They have a loft, they have dart boards, they have tours of the the place.
Civil Life is awesome. It is also a cash only establishment. The people are great, the beers are amazing. It's by far my favorite brewery. The partners are cool.
Even if the website is a little late to the party I'm still having it THIS COMING FRIDAY STARTING AT 5pm at
The Civil Life Brewing Company
3714 Holt Ave.
St. Louis, Mo 63116

SEE YOU ALL THERE. MATT HAYES

Lost Valley Trail Building Day
Lost Valley Trail Building Day
Date: Saturday, March 30, 2013, 9am to 1pm
Location: Lost Valley, St. Charles County
What: A few of us have continued working on the newest section of trail that we began at our January workday and we’re getting close to finishing this section. While this is not an “official” trail building day, with some help from our great volunteers we think we can get this trail open in time for the summer riding season. Please note, there will be no lunch available afterwards.
Where: Lost Valley, off highway 94 in St. Charles county.
From the Highway 40/94 interchange: Take Highway 94 South approximately 5 miles. The trailhead parking lot will be on your right hand side. This is the gravel parking lot at the bottom of the hill just past the shooting range where we have met for the last several workdays. From the parking lot we’ll either hike or carpool back to the worksite via the gravel road. (See www.gorctrails.com for directions and details of the park).
What to bring: Gloves, Sturdy shoes, eye protection, and something to eat and drink on the trail.
GORC will provide: Trail building tools, instructions on trail building, and safety guidelines.
Hope to see you there!
Larry

Granada Cyclery Donation
Granada Cyclery has donated $241.31 to GORC. These funds were the culmination of Granada Cyclery's "Giving Back to the Trail" 2012 program at their shop. They are planning to continue this program in 2013.
From Granada Cyclery - "We would also like to continue the offer for 2013 to not only raise funds for your efforts but also awareness. Thank you GORC for all that you do to enhance the trail system. We truly enjoy riding the trails, but also love to see the parking lots and trails filled with other riders of all abilities along with runners and hikers out there enjoying nature and the challenges it offers."
Thanks again for the monetary donation - it keeps the club operating expenses in check and allows us to continue moving forward with all our trail projects.
