New Poll: Strava the Online Social Media Comparison Tool

Hey, I ride faster and harder that you did on that one hill, on that one curvy road, on that descent of death...

You may have begun hearing it around you after races, before casual rides - or so you thought, at parties with bike-riding buddies and randomly inside a coffee house. Seems like the team at StravaHQ has successfully gotten people striving on Strava...

But what the hell is Strava? Is it a social media comparison tool? Is it a racer's online dream come true? Does it rank me across a plethora of scales, weights and measures? Will I get more if I pay for the service? Yes to all of the above and more.

Think of it as the Garmin Connect online upload with a ranking service attached. When you upload your Castlewood ride it will automatically find your ride stats and immediately compare them to all others uploaded before you. So don't be surprised if you thought you  had your best ride ever and then found out you're 35th out of 124 riders who've ridden the same track. Don't be discouraged....

You just got strava'ed.

And you'll ever strive next time or cast the service off. It's really what your personality make-up urges you to do.

Search 'how to cheat Strava' - it's a cottage industry. Maybe in a year or two people can have RPG/Gamer hobbyists tweak our Garmin files and email me back to us in exchange for some terrific live music torrent files. Whoa. Patent that!

Disclaimer: Tongue in cheek! Live music torrent files are the best. Always. Even at 64k quality!
