July 4th Epic Ride Info

It's that (hot) time of year again when you get off work so you can watch your friends blow stuff up and take bets if the city sets another barge on fire like that one time. Oh, and it's our nation's birthday!

To celebrate all the hard work it took to keep the British from ruling the 13 colonies GORC is honoring the 4th of July by working hard on the trails - pedaling between 40 and 50 miles of singletrack including Lost Valley, Matson Hill, Klondike and tying it all together with the straight and level KATY trail. Yes, we're RIDING the trails and NOT WORKING on them. Call this our summer social ride if you will.

There will be a stop in Defiance for food and brew if you're so inclined and hopefully the bars, er, grills will be open to serve you beer and hot wings - an explosive combo.

Last year got cancelled due to a deluge of rain the night before but let's all rally and ride this year's edition. Bring your favorite all-day ride be it full plush, single speed (KATY ugh!) or hardened tail. Leave the beater bar bike at home - this is a real bike ride on awesome singletrack.

Post on our message board if you plan on attending so we can get a head count

We hope to see you all at The Mound off Highway 94 July 4th morning. We are LEAVING at 9am to beat the heat and wrap the ride up in time for you to join your friends and family later in the evening to BBQ and blow stuff up.
