On Saturday, April 18th, 2009 we're having a workday at Greensfelder Park, and all interested people are invited...Mountain Bikers, Equestrians, Hikers and Avid Outdoor type persons. This workday will be co-sponsored by St. Louis County Parks and Maplewood Bicycles.
Maplewood Bicycles will have somebody attending the workday and they will also be giving away cool schwag.
Here's the basics:
Directions: Take Interstate 44 to the Allenton/Six Flags Exit 261. Go north on Allenton Rd, past the Six Flags entrance. Allenton Rd. bisects Greensfelder Park. Parking is in the paved parking lot for the Radio Tower/Scenic Loop on the right at the top of the hill.
What to bring: Gloves, Sturdy shoes, eye protection, and something to drink on the trail.
Please RSVP to: The St. Louis County Park's (SCCP) office as advance registration is required for Saturday. Please contact Sue Kuhnert at 314-615-8822 or email skuhnert@stlouisco.com.
GORC & St. Louis County Parks provide: Trail building tools, instructions on trail building, and safety guidelines.
Why: To add more multi-use single track (natural surface) trail to the existing Declue/Greenrock Trails.
After the workday: St. Louis County Parks will provide lunch, so that's why it is important to RSVP so they have a headcount. Bring your bike we'll ride afterwards if conditions are good.
Before you come out: Please read pilznr's article about what to expect at a workday.
If you have any questions AND to let us know if you will be attending, please post them here. Thanks.
